In August 2010, retired United States Navy officer Jason Carter founded Aegis as a consulting firm, providing IT portfolio management services for United States Transportation Command. Just seven months later, Aegis signed its second contract with Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, and Jason hired his first team member.
